Cheated at Beijing Capital Airport as anticipated

It was anticipated. I was ready to be cheated. And they did cheat me.
Arriving at Beijing capital airport from Kunming, China on a way home from Dhaka at around 1 AM on 28, April, I had to find a hotel to take a rest. There was a counter saying the city hotel guide corner or something like that inside a restricted area just outside the custom office exit. The first choice, I had thought, was to go to a time-charging lounge at the terminal, but a guy at the counter told me there isn't such a facility. Instead he offered to book a hotel at reasonable rate.
The alarm was ringing in my brain, and I could smell it very much fishy. The price he told me was 580 yuan, and it included a bed at a high standard international hotel, and free shuttle to and from the hotel, and breakfast. It was a bit expensive than I had anticipated, and the guy looked so happy that I believed he got some commissions from the hotel.
It was a late midnight. No choice. I firmly believed he was cheating, but took the offer. He took me to an upper floor and instruct me to get in a shuttle. A five min. ride took me to the Yamei International Hotel. There were several young clerks, who looked not well trained at all, at the front desk, giving me a key. One guy took me to the room and found it was not clean, and the air conditioner was broken.
The worst part of the hotel was the breakfast. It didn't look like a food, and actually didn't taste like a food. So I get out and found a restaurant near the hotel where many local people having breakfast. They served me a nice food at a very reasonable price.
Later I checked the rate of the hotel. It can be booked around 300 yuan. So the guy at the official looking counter at the airport might enjoy the commission from a poor looking tourist.
It was anticipated and I was ready to be cheated in the such circumstance. So no surprise. But China will lose its credibility, if it keep those cheatings keep going at the capital airport.
Here is another review carried at tip in the tripadvisor.
“Worst hotel experience ever - BUGS!”
Reviewed July 6, 2012
This hotel was my WORST hotel ever and I wish I could turn back time and spend the night on the airport check-in floor... I arrived late into Beijing Airport after a long travelling period and, faced with a cancelled flight, headed to the transit hotel which was regretfully full. A left luggage employee urged me to go to the airport hotel "just across the road" for the same price (about $100). I was put on a shuttle, and on arrival at the hotel, my instincts told me to run back to the airport. It was in a pretty dodgy place and wasn't that welcoming. Reception staff had no English (but I was in China so thats okay). My money was taken and I was taken to a room. It was not pretty. Rundown and dirty is a nice way of putting it.
