Mr. Pierre Pujos, a farmer in the villege of Saint-Puy, France, visited an organic farmer in Saitama prefecture on Monday. Farming 200 ha, Pierre has told me there are some similarities and differences in the organic farming between France and Japan. One is apparently the difference of farm size. Mr. Kaneko is farming just 3 ha. But Pierre has been impressed the way Mr. Kaneko utilizes his crops in the field. Mr. Kaneko basically sells his crops to a handful number of royal clients, and use some leftover for processing such as Tofu, and Sake. Also Mr. Kaneko explained that most of energy he uses is generated by himself, using biogas, and solar panels.
