Sustainable Permaculture goes beyond generations
The title goes “Sustainable Permaculture goes beyond generations” I visited Ms. Trish Alen in Newzealand in November. Although the famous Rainbow Valley Farm was closed 7 years ago, she was still in active encouraging local people to commit a community garden and a farmers market. (explanation of the garden and how you try hard to do sustainable at home and B&B) “For me, permaculture is not just an organic farming. It is about working with Nature in order to maintain good soil, water, air, and sustainable system for the next generations.” (explanation of the Matakana Farmer’s market, which includes the origin of the market. You and Joe were inspired by a market it Iwate Japan) (explanation of the Rainbow Valley farm from the begining.) A local couple bought the property, and they are very much interested in doing permaculture again at the site. They had asked Trish to help. Therefore it looks the Rainbow Valley farm would be revived in the same place after 7 years of a rest. “The couple has an idea that it is important to reduce waste by considering the earth and people and sharing the resources. I am very happy.” and Trish smiles.
