Double the rice in Africa, again

JICA, an official aid agency of Japan and other international donors will mobilize to double the rice production in Africa to 56 million tons in 12 years by 2030. Due to its rapid increase of rice consumption, African countries are importing more rice from Asia. Donors hope that improved rice production in the area would boost its rice self sufficiency rate.
It is the second version of CARD scheme which was established in 2008 by JICA.
