The M6 Ranch had sold its Charolais cattle by last fall. The ranch had been famous for its reputation for the high quality bulls of the cattle in the US. But Mr. Kevin Moore thought differently. Wagyu must be the good choice for the future.
When I visited the ranch, 600 Wagyu cattle are spreading in the 700 ha of grassland. Not housings for the cattle. 250 animals are purebreds. The ranch produces 200 offsprings a year.
"I am selling them for breading cattle. Some go to commercial.Wagyu is the exiting beef cattle in the US. I am going to be the number one in the wagyu in US in a couple of years," Kevin told me.
Now Wagyu is in a boom in US. One of former State extension agents told me " We are seeing more people eating Wagyu, so ranchers are trying to produce more Wagyu."
Kevin is going to hold an auctions right after the meeting of the US Wagyu organization in Fortworth TX in October.
